Deadline for property tax exemptions extended
The deadline for filing property tax exemptions in Indiana’s been extended.
The new deadline is October 15.
To qualify, you must have owned your primary residence as of March 1 of this year.
If you have previously filed an exemption on your property, you only need to refile if you have moved or refinanced.
Those who’ve missed the June deadline but filed after June 11 up until the October 15 deadline are now eligible for the 2008 property tax relief.
Exemptions must be filed at the Vanderburgh County Auditor’s Office.
