Lugar Sponsors Homeownership and Preservation Expo
IN - September 23, 2008 - (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar will sponsor a Homeownership and Preservation Expo on Thursday, September 25, 2008, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Evansville Vanderburgh Central Library. The Expo will include exhibits from local housing and consumer counseling agencies, and one-on-one confidential counseling in English and Spanish will also be available. The Evansville Vanderburgh Central Library is located at 200 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Evansville.
Housing professionals will address: first-time homebuyer education, tips on credit repair and budgeting, foreclosure prevention, and home rehabilitation. Additionally, participants of the expo can receive a printed copy of their credit report and have it interpreted by professionals at the event. All events are free.
Exhibitor booths and one-on-one counseling will open in the Browning Event Rooms A and B at 4:00 p.m. and will remain open to the public throughout the event.
Exhibitors include: Community Action Programs of Evansville, Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association, Evansville Area Association of Realtors, HOPE of Evansville, Community Action Programs of Evansville, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association, Habitat for Humanity of Evansville, Momentive Consumer Credit Counseling Service, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Indianapolis Field Office, USDA Rural Development, Countrywide, and more.
