Realtors make $20K grant to economic development group
State and local Realtors on Tuesday presented grants totaling $20,000 to the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana.
The Evansville Area Association of Realtors donated $10,000 to the coalition, while the Indiana Association of Realtors matched the amount with its own grant.
John Czoer, president of the Evansville group, said area Realtors were looking for an organization that could serve as a good partner in driving economic growth.
“We believe that the best prescription for a healthy housing and real estate market is the promotion of a strong economy,” Czoer said. “Area Realtors are serious about enhancing economic development in Southwest Indiana and so, with this check, we are walking the talk.”
Greg Wathen, president and chief executive of the regional economic development organization, said the coalition will use the money in a new marketing effort, which will include a re-vamped Web site.
